Volta Extrication instructors have more than two decades of experience in responding to roadway incidents and vehicle rescue. Over time, as automotive propulsion system technology has evolved, new challenges have emerged when it comes to vehicle rescue and extrication incidents. To address these challenges, we have adapted and modified our educational content to provide the latest information and best practice recommendations for our class participants.

Our classes focus on the hazards associated with electric drive vehicles, including identification, immobilization, and high-voltage energy disabling. We cover topics such as electric drive technology, traction battery technology, charging stations, high-voltage shutdown procedures, extrication considerations, thermal runaway recognition, and firefighting best practices.
